about
This kitchen peeler design project focused on creating a more considered everyday kitchen tool through strategic product design, DFM and material efficiency. The aim was to keep manufacturing costs low without compromising the qualities that matter most in use: ergonomic comfort, structural strength and a refined visual language.
The design was developed around a low-material, high-performance approach. By carefully reducing unnecessary bulk, refining the handle geometry and considering how the product would be manufactured from the outset, the peeler achieves a cost-conscious construction while still feeling purposeful, comfortable and design-led.
Rather than treating affordability as a limitation, the project used it as a design constraint. Every surface, curve, and structural decision was shaped to balance usability, durability, and production efficiency — resulting in a kitchen utensil that feels simple, functional, and commercially viable, without losing its sense of design intent.
The final concept demonstrates how thoughtful industrial design can elevate a familiar kitchen accessory, turning a low-cost product into something more ergonomic, efficient and visually considered.
